Overview
Wellington Building Services Ltd (WBS) is a building and maintenance firm servicing the residential market in and around Wellington, including the Hutt Valley, Porirua and Kapiti. WBS employs qualified and licensed builders, painters, plasterers, and other qualified trades people to provide a coordinated, in-house maintenance and building solution. For larger and more complex building projects, WBS has in-house professionals such as project managers, a quantity surveyor, and administration staff to manage every project to successful completion. WBS also has a wide range of specialist sub-contractors whom we regularly use as part of a comprehensive service offering.
WBS specialises in residential property maintenance and repairs, concentrating on leaky buildings, exterior cladding replacement, roof repair/replacement, property renewals, bathroom/kitchen re-fits and interior upgrades. By maintaining a staff mix of tradespeople such as builders, painters and plasterers, WBS provides a fully-managed service offering by coordinating all aspects of the project from concept to completion or as required – our tagline is ‘one company, one solution’. This company structure also provides benefits in terms of cost control, price and flexibility.
Services and Capabilities
Increasingly, WBS is requested to provide a ‘full-service’ identification, remediation and project management service for remediation work and other associated work. This often involves site surveys, investigations and reporting, financial planning and engagement of specialist consultant services, such as Architect, Engineer and Building Surveyors. By combining these services with our in-house team, we provide a well-coordinated and cost-effective professional services package.

WBS has also established a full-service 24/7 maintenance hotline, which is used by property management clients for emergency repairs and situations. This is particularly useful for corporate entities with significant property holdings i.e. Bridgestone Tyres Ltd.

Company History
WBS has been trading as
‘Wellington Building Services’ since 2008 after re-branding and consolidation
of a number of subsidiary building companies managed by Darren and wife
Rebecca. The company has evolved over this time as the market has changed, from
commercial and residential new builds, now dealing with leaks, repairs and
maintenance. This is a strategic move in response to market changes to a
coordinated ‘one company one solution’ service model focussed on adding value
to our customers.
Many staff members have been long-term employees of the firm and the firm has
received a number of building excellence awards during this time.
Organization Structure
WBS structure comprises a tightly coordinated team structure with an office-based team of support and admin staff and teams of on-site tradespeople and key contractors. We operate under an Account Manager model by which the Account Manager is responsible and accountable for all aspects the delivery of the company’s services. Systems and Processes
Our policy is to
continually review and update systems and process to stay attuned to changes in
technology where savings in time and cost can be achieved.
WBS has invested and implemented a number of important systems and procedures
features which are designed to increase efficiency and robustness of the
operation. These include IT, software and cloud-based online solutions and uses
an online work management system ‘Workflow Max’ to manage the day-today
operation, sales management and financial management of the projects.
